03/01/2001 - Picasso America, manufacturer of the worlds finest freediving and spearfishing equipment and gear announces that they are sponsoring several world class freediving and spearfishing athletes based here in the United States.

The men's roster includes:

• Gerald Lim - Two times U.S National Champion in 1997 & 1998 and finished 6th place in the 1998/1999 World Championships held in Zadar-Croatia


• Bill Ernst - Previous National Spearfishing Champion and 10 time U.S. World Championship Team Member


• Rene' Rojas - U.S. Athlete of the year (1999), Member numerous times of winning U.S. National Team and member of Team U.S.A. for the 1998 and 2000 World Cup competitions.
• Scott Campbell - Current U.S. record holder for static apnea at 6 min 30 sec.


• Hawaii #1 team 2001, Jason Hijirida (Team Captain), Ryan Paik and KB Vitarelli

The women's roster includes:

• Anne Doherty - US National champion for 1998 and winner of the Picasso Open 2000 in Rhode Island


• Brandi Easter - U.S. Individual National Champion for 2000, CenCal Woman Diver of the Year for both 1999 and 2000


• Jean Lundeen - Winner of the Women's Pacific Coast Championship, and the 2000 National Spearfishing Championship

Picasso America is also a major sponsor of both the men's and women's Canadian Association of Freediving and Apnea (CAFA) teams, which placed second overall at the prestigious AIDA World Cup of Freediving held in Nice, France in October of 2000. Read more about the team here.
